3D cel-shaded animation is the graphic design for the game. I find most of the actors, heroes, villains, enemies, etc. to be very cute which then gives this game an edge to those who really loves cute stuff. You begin with a character in which you may select two classes from a Swordsman who wields an all mighty melee weapon to rush and bash an enemy till they drop unconscious or a mage that can invoke elements and cast spells to dampen their enemies defenses.
At a first glance Eden eternal may seem to be a rather simple and pretty easy game to play. You might have the impression that the game is a remake of the popular game, Ragnarok Online. That you will need to customize your stats and skills. However, on this game you can fully control your character's class/es.
You might wonder on, what this game has to offer than any other point and click games that are already out in the market. First is cuteness, since most of the graphics are very pleasing to the eyes and really tickles the soft spot of those who loves cute stuff they will definitely enjoy dancing around with other players or tease them with other funny emotions. Second, would be its capability to be customizable and stylistic, unlike other games that can only change an outfit after a job change or change the color, Eden Eternal offers both and in different types of style, the only thing I don't like is the restriction of classes to wear other designs, I guess its no different to other games with class restriction and this would mean as an identity to the player of what class it belongs to. Lastly is flexibility, the class outfits might have restrictions, however, the item mall doesn't and with costumes you may fully customize your character's look. Besides, physique this game also offers a very unique system which allows the players to interchange from one class to another just by selecting the class you want to become. This is particularly helpful when you need to do grinds or party then at the moment they needed a priest. If you have the appropriate level and requirement you may switch your job instantly to help your colleagues in battling and defeating your enemies. I particularly, love to toggle between a mage class and a priest class since I'm more of the support type of player. But, enough about me, let's now go to controls. What I really like about the controls is that it's pretty simple you just have to click on a location and then you'll move to where you clicked on, if you want to use the keys the usual “WSAD” controls is very much available for use. You may check the settings for the hotkeys. If you are the type of player who loves to take screenies, like me, You can remove the HUD so that your character and background will have a clear view by pressing Alt + H. You may also choose what you want to be displayed on your screen. What I don't like about the HUD is that it's so cluttered on your screen sometimes you accidentally clicks on a button or a window like the quest window.
Items are very crucial in any game and the more items you can store the happier you are. But this game doesn't offer the luxury of getting everything you want unless you have the money to spend for it so make sure to use your inventory space wisely unless you're ready to buy a new inventory space.
Magic and Skills for each class are different which makes them unique and really worth having. You can have all the class you want however you need to be mindful of the characteristic that you chose from the start since it'll determine what is the strength of your character. You will also need to hone you skills in order to change a class and use their abilities. Do not fret since all the requirements are already shown on the Character class window. Magic and skill damage will be dependent on your enemies resistance against it some will be very powerful and some would be very weak against fire, so it's up to you on what spell to cast and what ability to use to defeat your opponent. If you are the type of player that loves strategic gameplay, this definitely is a must have.
The music really fits the mood of the environment and the sound effects aren't too exaggerated. The game will automatically save for you so you don't have to look for way points, well you still do coz if you didn't and you died... You will find out when it happens.
Overall... this game is an 4 out of 5 stars for its cuteness, very addictive, competitive and challenging gameplay. Thank you for taking time to read my review for Eden Eternal.
