Eden Eternal Review

Set in a world where races battle for dominion over the country a set of heroes has come to bring peace and order to everyone. Enter the the world of Eden Eternal and watch the ancient tale unfold before your eyes. Help the Eternal Guardians solve the mystery of their origin and ultimately restore peace to the citizens once and for all. And so the game begins...

3D cel-shaded animation is the graphic design for the game. I find most of the actors, heroes, villains, enemies, etc. to be very cute which then gives this game an edge to those who really loves cute stuff. You begin with a character in which you may select two classes from a Swordsman who wields an all mighty melee weapon to rush and bash an enemy till they drop unconscious or a mage that can invoke elements and cast spells to dampen their enemies defenses.

At a first glance Eden eternal may seem to be a rather simple and pretty easy game to play. You might have the impression that the game is a remake of the popular game, Ragnarok Online. That you will need to customize your stats and skills. However, on this game you can fully control your character's class/es.

Treasure Hunter [by KooGame]

Home Page
The front page looks like a hard-core, action-packed game. I formed an impression that I will play a first-person shooter game or something close to that.
A change of front page design could be more effective. The design must speak for itself that this game is about what else…. treasure hunting.
Treasure Hunter concept could be: an Egyptian tomb explorer, or Deserted Island adventurer theme.

Tutorial Page
At first glance, the tutorial page is complicated, not that easy to follow, especially with the diagrams and features “squished” into the small touch screen without arrows pointing which step is next.
It would be better if the tutorial should stick to the basic instructions that even a kid could understand. What’s important is any player can play this game with minimal reading involved. Let’s face it. In any game [console, PC, online etc] players seldom read the contents or instructions, they just play.
Another cool way to exhibit the tutorial is a mini-video demo of the actual game [that can be accessed when you click an icon at the Start Page]

Gameplay
The game is addicting. Players can get hooked round after round of picking up treasures and other stuff.
The downside of this is the routine. Some might eventually get bored with this game. The game could add features like “Achievement Board” or Bonus Points from remaining time after attaining the target amount per round [which will be discussed in later].
After reaching the target amount, the timer does not stop. It keeps on going until the 60-seconds time limit expires. It would be more fun and rewarding if the remaining time could be converted into Bonus Points or $ [as discussed earlier]. That way, players can use the added $$$ as advantage to beat the target in the next round.
The timer must be more visible. Honestly I thought there were no timers within the game window. The small bar at the upper right corner could be missed by anyone playing this game. I suggest a digital timer for this game. The numeric view of the time might add pressure to the gamers, but it would definitely add thrill and excitement in meeting the target on time.

The Final Destiny of the Gods

Despite the exponential rise of new generation MMORPGs, it is still retaining its popularity throughout the years. A whole variety of servers was also released, official and even unofficial ones at that.

Comprised of a series of maps each with its own characteristics and of course its own set of creatures that inhibit it. The Maps are also designed in such a way that it resembled familiar places like ancient cities in china and japan, Niflheim and even Valhalla.

The game has a 3D environment but are represented by 2D character sprites. Is also quite fast paced compared to most online RPGs. Features a Job Class System of your choice depending on your playing style, melee, ranged, magic etc.

You probably guessed what game this is by now. If not, it's Ragnarok Online.

Backyard Monsters

Tired of your farm? Why not stay at your backyard and create an army of monsters? Then try this game from KIXEYE where you are given a chance to make your own monster-producing backyard.

There is no story, and who said you need a good story line to have a good game? I admit, I'm a World of Warcraft addict, which is known for its vast lore. However, Capcom's Monster Hunter had also proven that a story line is just a part of a game and it is not the game itself. This game, Backyard Monsters, even if it lacks a story line, has promise. Having 4.1 Million monthly active users and an average score of 4.9 out of 5 from 700k users.

So why do you need to build a monster creating yard? Why are wild monsters attacking you? Why do you even need to attack your neighbors? I don't know, all I know is I just need to do it.

Pilot

In true Kids Next Door fashion, Cartoon Network’s MMO Fusion Fall prodly proclaims to the whole world, No Adults Allowed. Fusion Fall is a web-browser [yes you read that right] MMO based on the Cartoon Network Universe.

The premise of the game is pretty simple and straightforward. The evil Fuse and his army of monsters and doppelgangers is out to take over your world, and you must help various CN heroes such as Ben 10, Dexter, the Powerpuff Girls and the Kids Next Door, to defend your world and defeat the evily Fuse. All of this, with a fresh anime styled coating.

The cartoon characters aren’t actually playable characters, much to my dismay but hey, we can’t all be Dexter or Ben 10 right? Rather, they are NPCs that serve to guide you through your quests and missions. The game starts with Dexter guiding you through a pretty simple tutorial section, with the messages being logged for your referral, and tips from Dexter’s “computeress“ popping up from time to time. Afterwards, other famous CN characters take over Dexter’s role as your guide, as you continue with your quest to save the world from the evil Fuse. The “guides” give you newer and better equipment as you complete your quests and occasionally, “gift boxes” which when used gives the player a random item depending on the box’s type. The item depends on the box’s type and can range from common items to ultra rare items.

Using the acronym MMORPG to describe the game wouldn’t do it any justice. The game plays more like Kingdom Hearts than your usual MMO. It has platforming elements and more along the lines of an Action/Adventure RPG with its combat system, utilizing a lock on system and both melee and ranged attack modes. Nonetheless, the game is “child friendly” and the platforming is relatively easy, with the jump’s long airtime and no “death by falling”.
