Tired of your farm? Why not stay at your backyard and create an army of monsters? Then try this game from KIXEYE where you are given a chance to make your own monster-producing backyard.

There is no story, and who said you need a good story line to have a good game? I admit, I'm a World of Warcraft addict, which is known for its vast lore. However, Capcom's Monster Hunter had also proven that a story line is just a part of a game and it is not the game itself. This game, Backyard Monsters, even if it lacks a story line, has promise. Having 4.1 Million monthly active users and an average score of 4.9 out of 5 from 700k users.
So why do you need to build a monster creating yard? Why are wild monsters attacking you? Why do you even need to attack your neighbors? I don't know, all I know is I just need to do it.
Defend your yard from your neighbors and wild monsters camping all around you, or exact revenge by invading and controlling wild monsters while rampaging to your neighbors' yards. This game gives you multiple tasks and challenges all through out the day that will make you busy and forget about your cuddly pets and withering farms. Though beware because its a free arena. Leave it for a few hours unwatched and your neighbor might destroy your whole yard and leave you with nothing but ruins.

To start off, you'll get a bluish droplets called workers that can build anything from resources, towers and monster-producing buildings. Amazingly, they can also decorate your yard using pile of twigs, pebbles and putty. You can use any strategy, but I started mine by making some resource-producing buildings. But then when everything seems to be on their proper position and I'm decorating my yard, a warning shows that I am being attacked by wild monsters and I was only given a few minutes to prepare. I suddenly pull out all my droplets and build some defense towers. Whew! that would be a good twist from a basic plow-plant-harvest themed facebook games.

Afterwards, I upgraded some of the buildings. You would have to wait for some upgrades to finish, which is usual for any Facebook games. I suggest that you buy another droplet (workers). Good thing that they've provided some “shiny” (the game's currency) for the second one but you need to get more shiny to have the maximum number of workers, which is 5.
After building up your production and defenses, its time to attack so you could create a variety of monsters with the cost of goo. You may upgrade their statistics and from the previous update your monsters can also use both technology and sorcery type of skills like missiles, teleport and invisibility. You can also team up with the people around you and form an alliance. Also you could ransack your neighboring wild monsters yard, conquer it and expand your base so that you could gather more resources and produce more monsters.

Finally you can create your champion monster. You could choose between Gorgo, Drull and Fomor in which each has their own specialty. Gorgo specializes defense, Drull is for offense and Fomor is for support.

All in all, the game is good, it's already more than a year since it was released, but the idea was so unique that you won't just play it for some days then remove it on your application list.
thats a huge back yard ^_^ V
